SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) fills thousands of Group B and C posts across central-government ministries. It is quant- and reasoning-heavy, speed-driven, and very beatable with the right subject-wise practice. Here is the 2026 plan.

SSC CGL exam pattern

The four subjects — and how to attack them

A subject-wise study plan

  1. Weeks 1–4: One subject test a day, rotating quant, reasoning, English, GA. Log every wrong answer.
  2. Weeks 5–6: Full SSC CGL Tier 1 mocks twice a week; drill your two weakest subjects in between.
  3. Final week: Timed mocks daily at the real exam time. Push accuracy while keeping speed.

Preparing for SSC CGL also sets you up for SSC CHSL, banking and railway exams, since the subjects overlap. See the whole set in the Government & Civil Service catalog.
