SSC CGL exam pattern
- Tier 1 — objective: General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension, General Awareness. 100 questions, 60 minutes, with negative marking.
- Tier 2 — deeper papers on quantitative abilities, reasoning, English, plus statistics/finance for specific posts.
The four subjects — and how to attack them
- Quantitative Aptitude — the biggest score differentiator. Practise the SSC Quantitative Aptitude test until speed is automatic.
- Reasoning — high-scoring if you drill patterns. Try the SSC Reasoning test.
- English — grammar, vocabulary, comprehension. Use the SSC English test.
- General Awareness — static GK + current affairs. Build it with the SSC General Awareness test.
A subject-wise study plan
- Weeks 1–4: One subject test a day, rotating quant, reasoning, English, GA. Log every wrong answer.
- Weeks 5–6: Full SSC CGL Tier 1 mocks twice a week; drill your two weakest subjects in between.
- Final week: Timed mocks daily at the real exam time. Push accuracy while keeping speed.
