The Hexaware interview, in brief
Hexaware is a global IT and business-process services company headquartered in Mumbai, India, that hires freshers as Graduate Engineer Trainees (GET) and Post-Graduate Engineer Trainees (PGET). Its campus and off-campus process is a services-industry funnel: an online assessment (aptitude plus a domain/coding section), followed by a technical interview centred on CS fundamentals — DBMS and SQL, OOP, operating systems, and DSA — plus a walkthrough of your academic or internship project, and finally an HR round. System design
Design is modest and object-oriented rather than distributed. Expect a low-level design (a library management system, an ATM, a simple booking flow) with a clean class model, OOP principles, and a rough database schema — and a clear account of how your own college or internship project was structured (modules, schema, data flow).
Behavioural round
The HR round probes motivation to join Hexaware, comfort with learning any assigned technology stack, relocation flexibility, teamwork, and how you handled a real challenge. Answer with specific situations (STAR) rather than generic claims — confidence, communication, and adaptability are what a services interviewer is reading.

How to prepare
Do
- The aptitude test has no negative marking — attempt every question and manage the clock.
- Be able to write clean SQL live: a SELECT with a JOIN, a DELETE with a WHERE, and DROP vs DELETE vs TRUNCATE.
- Master the four OOP pillars with a concrete example each, plus abstract class vs interface and overloading vs overriding.
- Know your own project cold — the modules, the database schema, the tech stack, and what you personally built.
- Practise LeetCode easy-to-medium in one language you can write fluently by hand.
- State the time and space complexity of every solution before you are asked.
- For HR, prepare an honest “why Hexaware” and be ready to say you are open to any stack and to relocation.
Avoid
- Memorising OOP definitions but being unable to give a real example or apply them to a scenario.
- Freezing on a live SQL query — practise writing joins and deletes by hand, not just reading them.
- Coding straight away without clarifying the problem or naming the edge cases.
- Not being able to explain your own resume project in technical depth.
- Ignoring complexity — giving a brute-force answer and never mentioning its cost or a better approach.
- Treating the HR round as a formality; vague, generic answers read as low interest.
