The Wipro interview, in brief
Wipro's flagship fresher pipeline is the Wipro Elite National Talent Hunt (NTH) — a large-volume, pan-India program hiring engineering graduates into the Project Engineer role. It runs as an online assessment (aptitude + a written essay + coding) followed by a voice/communication assessment and interview stages. A premium "Turbo" tier sits on top for top performers, and separate WILP tracks exist for non-B.E./B.Tech graduates.
Candidates sit the online written assessment (aptitude, then an essay, then coding), then an AI-evaluated voice/communication assessment (an elimination round, emphasised for Turbo), then a technical interview and an HR / business-discussion round. Top scorers who clear an additional coding challenge can be upgraded to the Turbo tier.

Coding & DSA topics
System design
Not part of fresher hiring. The technical round stays at core-CS depth — the OOP pillars with examples, a basic SQL query, and a simple DSA operation — rather than system design.
Behavioural round
The HR / business-discussion round assesses communication, dedication, and stability — "tell me about yourself", "why Wipro?", awareness of Wipro's business and work culture, teamwork, willingness to relocate anywhere in India (project-based), and shift flexibility.
Representative question categories
Patterns in Wipro’s style — not verbatim proprietary questions.
- Logical reasoning — Number/letter series, seating arrangements, syllogisms, blood relations.
- Quantitative — Time-speed-distance, percentages, ratios, permutations, probability.
- Essay — A short opinion/argument on a general or tech topic (e.g. the impact of automation).
- Coding — Reverse/rotate an array, palindrome check, reverse a linked list, tree traversal.
- Interview — OOP / DBMS — Overloading vs overriding; explain normalization (1NF/2NF/3NF).
- HR — "Why Wipro?", "Are you okay relocating anywhere in India?", shift flexibility.
How to prepare
Do
- Prepare the essay — a clear, well-structured 150–400 word argument is easy marks many candidates ignore.
- Logical reasoning is often the hardest section; practise series, arrangements, and syllogisms.
- Take the voice/communication assessment seriously — it is an elimination round, especially for Turbo.
- Be able to explain the four OOP pillars with an example and write a basic SQL join.
Avoid
- Skipping essay practice and losing easy structured-writing marks.
- Under-preparing the voice round and being eliminated before the interview.
- Being vague about relocation or Wipro's business in the HR round.
Who can apply
Common norms: 60% or 6.0 CGPA in graduation and 60% in 10th and 12th, usually no active backlogs at the assessment. Full-time B.E./B.Tech for Elite NTH; B.Sc/BCA and diploma holders go through the Work Integrated Learning Program (WILP), an earn-and-learn route with a Wipro-sponsored M.Tech or B.Tech.
Wipro interview FAQ
- What is the Wipro Elite NTH?
- The Wipro Elite National Talent Hunt — Wipro's large-volume fresher hiring program for B.E./B.Tech graduates into the Project Engineer role. It has an online assessment (aptitude, essay, coding), a voice/communication assessment, and technical + HR interviews.
- What is the difference between Wipro Elite and Turbo?
- Elite is the standard entry track. Turbo is a premium tier for top performers — typically the top percentile of the NTH who clear an additional coding challenge and a communication assessment — carrying a higher package band. Both sit the same base assessment.
- What is Wipro WILP?
- The Work Integrated Learning Program — a separate pipeline for B.Sc/BCA graduates and diploma holders. You join Wipro full-time while pursuing a Wipro-sponsored degree (M.Tech or B.Tech) from a partner university, an earn-and-learn route.
- Does the Wipro NTH have an essay?
- Yes — a written-communication section with one essay of about 150–400 words, graded on grammar, structure, and coherence. It is distinctive to Wipro among the big services recruiters.
